MALE, November 1, 2007 (Haveeru News Service) -- Some 32 employees at Noonu atoll Medhafushi resort, currently being developed by Sun Travel and Tours, are undergoing treatment at the Noonu Atoll Hospital for food poisoning.

According to the Community Health Supervisor at the Atoll Hospital in Manadhoo, Ibrahim Rasheed, 16 employees had to be admitted. However, all of them have been released after treatment.

According to Rasheed, apart from stomachaches and vomiting, the patients were not in any serious danger.

Both Maldivians and foreigners were among those who underwent treatment for food poisoning, he said.

“Everyone is fine now. The doctor suspects that it must have been either fish or something else they ate,” Rasheed said.

Haveeru could not contact Sun Travels Director Ahmed Shakir for comment regarding the incident.
